Teaming Up to Help Family Farms in North Dakota

RDO Equipment Co. signs on as Exclusive Equipment Sponsor of nonprofit, Farm Rescue

JAMESTOWN, N.D., August 9, 2005Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization founded to help North Dakota farmers in need, today announced that RDO Equipment Co. will participate as the "Exclusive Equipment Sponsor" of the 2006 Farm Rescue program.

Launched earlier this year, Farm Rescue's mission is to help farmers who are experiencing financial hardship because of health- or weather-related crises by planting their agricultural land free of charge in the spring.

As part of the sponsorship arrangement, RDO Equipment Co. will donate the use of a John Deere 4WD tractor and no-till planter for Farm Rescue volunteers to operate in assisting farmers in 2006.  RDO also will provide transportation and maintenance for the equipment. The approximate value of the donation is $70,000, making RDO the highest-level sponsor of Farm Rescue.

"We're thankful to have RDO working with us and supporting this initiative," said Bill Gross, founder of Farm Rescue.  "This is a very generous donation and terrific example of the kind of corporate involvement we had hoped would arise from this program. It's clear that RDO shares our vision of helping family farms and we encourage other businesses to follow their lead by participating in the Farm Rescue program."

"RDO is proud to be the exclusive equipment sponsor of the 2006 Farm Rescue program," said Keith Kreps, vice president, RDO Equipment Co.  "We do share the vision of helping family farmers, part of RDO's philosophy is to help people and make their way of life better. Farm Rescue is a unique program that gives us that opportunity to help farmers throughout North Dakota."

Farmers who qualify for assistance will be eligible to have agricultural land planted free of charge in the spring. Farm Rescue's goal is to plant up to 5,000 acres in 2006.  The organization, which is operated by volunteers, is accepting tax-deductible donations from individuals and businesses. For information on how to make donation or apply for assistance, visit the Farm Rescue website at www.farmrescue.org or call (701) 526-0947.
